Meet Phadra Carson Foster

Phadra Carson Foster is an educator, advocate, and candidate for Alabama State Senate District 25. As a college instructor and experienced community leader, she has spent years serving families and communities through education, advocacy, and public service at the local, state, and national levels. 

Phadra’s background reflects a deep and lasting commitment to Alabama and its people. Early in her career, she worked with the Alabama Historical Commission, where she gained an even deeper appreciation for the state’s rich history and the communities that shape it.

She also worked with the Central Alabama Fair Housing Center, helping to protect and promote the rights of citizens. Across the Black Belt and central Alabama, she has led arts and education initiatives that brought people together, created meaningful opportunities, and strengthened community connections.

Phadra holds two graduate degrees: a Master of Liberal Arts in English and Theatre and a Master of Legal Studies with a focus on Conflict Resolution.

Those experiences have strengthened her understanding of communication, policy, public service, and the kind of thoughtful problem-solving needed to move communities forward.

Phadra is also grounded in the everyday realities facing Alabama families. As part of a family that understands the challenges and responsibilities of small business ownership, she values hard work, accountability, and the importance of expanding opportunity close to home.
